Ask for a Sweet!

You won't be bored when you board with us! Yuk! Yuk!

I like the daily happy hour!

Boarding

As much as you hate to leave your pet we are happy to take very good care of them while you're away! We provide boarding services to both our canine and feline friends; both of which are boarded indoors in our air conditioned or heated accommodations. You are welcome to bring your pets food to maintain continuity in their diet (and it is usually a good idea), however we can also provide their meals with our high quality, veterinary grade Hills or Royal Canin prescription diet. Your pets boarding care is all taken care of our Peggy ("grandma to your pets) as well as by our great staff!  And as always, Dr. Herman is only a phone call away should your pooch or kitty need him!

Boarding Policies

We require your pets to be current in their recommended vaccination schedule and be free of 'freeloaders' (fleas and the like!) If we spot these 'meanies' on your pet we will certainly take care of treatment pronto with a dose (or two...depending) of Capstar...at your expense.

For our canine companions we require:

  • A current (within one year) physical exam by Dr. Herman
  • Distempter-Hepatitis-Parainfluenza-Parvo Combination vaccine
  • Rabies vaccine must be current!
  • Canine Influenza vaccine
  • A negative fecal parasite test (yuck!) within the last year.
  • Bordetella Vaccine - every six months.
  • Dogs not currently noted in our records as being current on flea prevention will be dosed with flea preventative upon hospital admission-$7.00/dose for Capstar.
  • And we think a heartworm test is a great idea...but that one is up to you.

Rate is $28.00/night Non-clients - $33.00/night (Exam required for first-time boarding)

For our feline friends we require:

  • A current physical exam by Dr. Herman
  • Feline Distemper-Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis Combination Vaccine
  • A negative fecal parasite test (ew!)
  • Rabies vaccine must be current!
  • Cats not currently noted in our records as being current on flea prevention will be dosed with flea preventative upon hospital admission-$7.00/dose for Capstar.

Rate is $23.00/night Non-clients - $25.00/night (Exam required for first-time boarding)

Also!

  • We must charge an additional $5.00/night for 'special care' boarders (read: pets that unusually soil themselves or their boarding space and require extra 'attention'. Not all boarders are 'paw-painters' as we like to call them... but when they are, it's the extra time required to keep them in a clean space.)
  • If non-emergency conditions are found during exams or during their boarding stay, we must treat your pet at your expense.
  • We are not responsible for lost or damaged items left with your pet. (But we do our best to tuck things away if you've forgotten something!)
  • Pick-up time is noon to to allow for boarders coming in and needing space. If we do not have a pet booked for this space, they are welcome to stay with us for the remainder of the day for our day boarding rate of $14.00...just let us know!
  • Boarding for non-clients during holidays or especially busy boarding seasons may be put on a waiting list as priority is given to clients first.
  • 50% deposits may be required if boarding space is filling, filled or requested during holiday for clients.
  • 100% non-refundable deposits may be required for non-clients for any boarding reservations requested throughout the year.

If you haven't already met Peggy or had a tour of our boarding space, by all means come on in! We'd be happy to show you around and discuss your boarding needs at your convenience.

Frequently asked questions:

Will my pet come in contact with other pets or boarders?
No. We do everything we can to not have animals in our care 'cross paths'.
Can you bathe my pet while he/she is boarding?
We're happy to bathe your dog! The bathing charge is $38.00 (and includes a paw-de-cure... talk about a spa day!) They'll feel refreshed and smell fresh too!
How much time are they outside?
Remember, we are a veterinary hospital with boarding. Not a boarding kennel with an on-call vet. Our staff respects that your friend needs a stretch and a fresh air and we are happy to provide that. We are unable to provide lengthy 'play times' per se. But our staff enjoys getting out for a stretch and fresh air too...so we do our best.
